tumblr :: time of day

I'm on Tumblr now!! I'll be posting images daily of my photography with the idea of time in mind. Random days, random time. Just looking back at my days in general.

What do we all do with our time? Where were we on any given day and time. It's interesting to think what we are doing any minute of the day. How we are spending our time.

oh and I'm still learning the tumblr format and such so I'm sure there will be regular changes until I settle on a theme/feel that I like. Check back often!

baby it's cold

Even in this cold, I still want to be outside… so I say bundle up, suck it up and go outside. I used to say to myself {and anyone that wasn't tired of listening} that I could never bare this northern cold. I am a warm weathered girl by nature, heart and soul. But you learn. You learn to layer. You learn to bundle. You learn to add the scarf, the gloves, the hat, the occasional layer of cashmere. And you learn to just suck it up and hope the sun peaks out to say hello every hour or so. Sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't. Last week I took the time to go out, walk around, photograph stuff and simply enjoy the afternoon. However, I did find myself inside a movie theater later… I needed some excuse to warm up, right? I was freezing!

Note to the above, in reference to me… not really, but I thought this was a fun find. Life reminder :: don't forget to look down every once in awhile or you might miss the best discovery of the day.

30 second dance party

This past weekend a friend of mine asked me to take headshots for her and I was thrilled to do so. What resulted was a 30 second dance party. You know when something feels accomplished that you had been working on and then you take those 30 seconds to dance party to the music in your head when it feels right and done, then back to work to finish it all up? You know like Grey's Anatomy style. My favorite 30 seconds of every life moment. I'm constantly dancing to the music in my head. If you've never tried it ::ADVICE:: start doing it everyday. It seriously makes life better.

Here are a couple shots {and a little graffiti for good measure} that I wanted to share from our playday in the West Village.

Also she has an awesome blog and updates daily with stuff to inspire 30 second dance parties or you can save it all for one day like Jenn does aka Dance Party Wednesday.

Check out what amuses her and inspires her here... US of J.

labor day littles

I kept this weekend simple. The Colbert Report taping. days walking around the city. Quiet Afternoon Cocktails. window shopping and real shopping. graffiti loving. enjoying the moonlight. wedding love.

Labor Day Weekend 2012, NYC

As for September, there are so many things that I'm looking forward to... multiple friends birthday celebrations. plus my favorite toddler turning three. fashion's night out. my next trip to cali. AND maybe the biggest one of all... finding a new job. it's time y'all!
wish me luck.

travel :: viejo san juan

For a few days of my getaway, I stayed in Old San Juan. I simply fell in love with it. Walking around exploring during the day and partying all night. Mostly, I loved the graffiti of the city. If you know me or know my blog, then you know I'm a sucker for graffiti. Here is just a glimpse of some little tags that I found.
Thinking of the last few months, gone... I am a bit said to say goodbye to summer as the unofficial end is approaching us this weekend but a change of the season is always nice in this city. September is sure to be a busy month and I'm ready for that little chill in the air. NYC feels good that way.

Happy Holiday Weekend!!

the city beat in the heat

NYC Streets
Summer 2012

One of my favorite things is to just walk around the city streets and take in all the little details. The details that people walk by, busy in their own thoughts.

graffiti me up {in color}

Some of you that have read my blog for awhile, should know my love of graffiti. When people paint up scribbles and such, yea, not really art so much but what most people do on the street, really is art and I can never get enough of it. Graffiti, no matter how similar, will always be new to the eyes. Here are more snapshots from my Montreal trip and only a little of the graffiti that city really has. Just walking down the street, it is everywhere. It truly is the city of graffiti. I thought I lucked out in Iceland, wrong. Thought it might be Barcelona or maybe Paris, wrong again. Canada is where it’s at.

it is more accurate to call me a thief

When googling random thoughts, I came across this statement below. Often graffiti comes up {which I love} and this one just stuck in my head. So then I thought, well I want to try to find the source because as we all know, once a photo is up and in the world wide web of hosting images, there are times you don’t find the source or you don’t care to because so many people don’t give image credit, so then I find this… Eddie. Great graffiti to check out and all inclusive of a FB fanpage. err, um, good thing? Sure, it’s a good thing. Who doesn’t have a fanpage now, right? Right.
