when we grow up

One of my favorite things about the holidays is getting to visit old friends that I don't get to see often enough. Shelley is one of my best and oldest childhood friends and being able to see her little boy getting bigger is just the best. Sharing a few photos of him and us - simply the cutest! Love trips to South Carolina and as much as I love the city, it sure is nice to go home.

the baby in a bow

I know I've been posting a bit of this little one lately but she is just the cutest! When I was in Cali, my friend/her mom and I set up this little shoot; I had never shot anything so studio-like before but it was great fun. I def want to try more of shoots like these. She's totally going to grow up being a little model...
Don't you just think so too?

the birthday boy

I'm still doing flashbacks of September. It was busy and playing catch up is fun... my favorite toddler turned THREE! Here are a few pictures from the day. While the kids play, the adults play too... notice the extra large punch bowl of sangria. Yum.

sunshine and kiddo time

Sunday was a perfect {although windy} day in the park for my favorite 2 year old and some sweets aka Birthday cupcakes, rice krispie treats and cotton candy. With a little more shade though, it would’ve been for nicer pictures but I will take sun over chilly any day. It seems the fall is already setting in for us over here. Also in all fairness, my friends have some of the cutest kids ever, just sayin.
Photos taken by me in Weehawken, New Jersey.

You have to hold onto them. They bump into things.
They laugh and cry. They urinate. They vomit.”

what's good {is at the zoo}

Last night I went with some friends to the Central Park Zoo for Family Night. It was a complete kiddie affair. The kiddos got a little nervous of the lemurs but no crying fits occurred and we, the adults, freaked out in the Tropic Zone where the birds get to fly all around, above and beside you… yea, we almost ran out when it sounded like a cat bird fight, for real. Also sometimes I have this moral issue about zoos; I can never decide if I’m ok with them or not. Sometimes the animals just look so unhappy, but I guess who’s to say… what do you think? Zoos… yah or nay? But the Zoo at Twilight? Definitely a must do.

it is a human zoo.”

the two basic items necessary to sustain life are sunshine and coconut milk

Puerto Rico. I finally developed some film and wanted to share these few shots… I went with my friend, April and her {simply the cutest} baby boy! We also took her 7 year old cousin {because we stayed with her grandmother there} – we were two girls {with Pina Coladas in hand still} and two kids, each attached to us in one way or another. This Puerto Rico wasn’t my typical vacation but we had a blast! I wouldn’t have changed it in anyway. We spent the {early} mornings on the beach, the afternoons in surrounding towns {so happy we got a rental car} and had Rex Cream {almost} daily.

These pictures are of Sebastian experiencing a little bit of the ocean for the first.time.ever. So adorable.

Tuesday Tea Party ~ your intuition is your best friend

This past weekend I took snapshots of a co-worker for her Family portraits, saw New York, I Love You and started my new blog!
As for the pictures - it was different working with the whole family and having the little ones all over the place. Definitely something that I need to work on is being able to give direction. It was harder to follow my feeling to get a great shot. However, the individual shots still came out great I think... here's one of her little girl, Sophia.

On to the movie... it was more independent and depressing than I thought it would be but it was still good and so true to NYC. Sometimes NY is depressing and has a gritty feel and you are almost always independent from anyone and anything else here yet life is still pretty great and comical most of the time.
And for my new blog... it stemmed from me just wanting a new challenge and something new to focus on and write about – it will be about cooking and drinking and places to eat! Check out One Bite to Bliss and any feedback is welcome! I’m just getting a feel for it now. It really is all about your intuition and just going for it.
