spring has not sprung

So not to sound like everyone else but to sound exactly like everyone else in nyc - when is spring going to get here? it snowed last week and the weekend before and they are saying still more potential snow this season. why oh why - aren't we all ready for summer or at least warmer days? yes, yes we are. sunshine really does make all the difference in the world and we are ready to get some. bring it spring - where are you, we are waiting with arms wide open to welcome you. spring brings the blooming of new ideas and I am ready. we need to shed the winter sweaters and shake off those blues. it's time to warm our bones and wear bikinis as we please. no more boots, no more socks - give me flip flops and short sleeve suits. the only place I want to feel cold, is in my office because you know that it's too hot outside, so they crank down the ac inside. and then I want to go bike riding on quiet roads along the water and sun tanning in central park. dust of those picnic baskets and get ready to find the city's best baguette - I know I am and I can't wait.

I’m happy to start February with some fun little facts about me! First, I have to say though, I’m in the “good-bye job” final countdown and it feels good. There are moments that I will miss, like a co-worker blasting AC/DC so loud at 8:30am, you would’ve thought you were still out at an after-hours but then I remember that’s only the Graduation Goggles. Though a great way to start the morning. And second… thanks to Jin for tagging me and giving me a reason to share some fun little facts! I’m lazy right now and not going to tag anyone to answer next but if you read this and want to play along, then tag you’re it!

1- I didn’t think I would love living in NYC so much but five years later and it has become a part of my soul.

2- I prefer watching movies in the theater than at home…

3- But I will watch a favorite movie at home over and over and over until I can practically quote the whole thing.

4- One of my favorite things is to come up with new fun drinks – like Get Loose Juice and the Cali Kickback!

5- Really hot weather is my favorite – when people say it’s too hot, I never complain or wish for cooler weather.

6- I used to live in a one room screened in shack with my parents when I was seven on Water Island.

7- I also lived in a hotel when I was six, in St. Thomas and I walked a mile plus to school every day in the morning and I would take a boat home after school.

8- I believe in Glitter, it just makes me happy.

9- I still prefer film photography over digital but I am trying to love digital.

10- My favorite movie is Stealing Beauty because of the memory of seeing it when I was 16. The movie was the first one I saw solo, in Australia, in a theater with purple velvet draped walls and purple velvet seats.

11- If I could travel at least every month, I would... it’s my favorite!

I typically have my iPod on but I actually do still listen to CDs sometimes via my oldschool CD alarm clock and right now Eric Church, CHIEF is on repeat!

When was the last time you cried and why?

About four weeks ago because I was so stressed and fraught with the idea of leaving my current job, Should I? Should I not? I decided right now my daily life would benefit from “it’s time for me to move on.” So far, one of the best decisions I’ve made. Also funny thing is, I was crying over something else so dumb that wasn’t job related but I realized it was stemming from being so stressed at work. That’s when you know it’s time to move on.

What is your favorite book?

Whatever is in my closet… I think it’s Adidas right now and maybe I've had them for 5+ years. I rarely work out and never go running, though I know I should start.

What is your current workout regimen?

Nothing… I kinda need one but in a perfect world – I’d wake up and do Zumba at least 3 times a week for 1.5 hours, then start my day. However, I do live in NYC so therefore I walk a few miles everyday (to and from work and everywhere in between) plus I live in a Fourth Floor walk-up meaning I do not have an elevator and the only way to get to my apartment is up and down, up and down. Everyday I wish to never forget something.

What is your favorite reality tv show?

"Americas Next Top Model" hands down! Love that show.

Last night I started going through my massive stash of makeup, looking for items that may inspire for some Halloween fun… and I ended up doing this {see pictures below} instead. Cheesy, right? But I thought it was amusing. Then today I woke up to weather in the 30’s! Huh? The 30’s people, is freezing and it is October. I spoke too soon. I am no longer enjoying Fall in the City. Can you tell which emotion evokes how I feel about tomorrow? Weather Report for Saturday in NYC :: Windy. Rain… mixing with snow in the afternoon. High 43F. Winds NE at 20 to 30 mph. Chance of rain 90%. It’s Halloween weekend, what am I supposed to do with that? At least it’s Friday.
