summer in the city

My cousin came up to NYC for his first visit earlier this summer and I was so excited to show him around the city. We walked the bk bridge, did the empire state building and so much more. One thing I wanted to highlight that is worth seeing this summer {or anytime you can make it} is FUERZA BRUTA. I had seen it one time before but I knew Wesley would love it. It's an interactive off-broadway show. One of my favorite things to recommend in the city and if you do the rush tickets two hours before the show it's even more worth it. Less than $25 per person for the rush line and really, it's just like one big rave dance party after.

These photos we took after the show and in the taxi because I definitely recommend taking in the whole show rather than having a camera glued to your face as some people did. I can't imagine it being the same experience. The first time I went, they didn't allow photography or videos but this last time, I saw flashes and videos galore. A bit distracting but I guess that is our media driven culture now. A moment is not a moment without a photo, I assume.

:: a few things to note::
you'll be on your feet during the 70 min performance
you will be asked to move and may be asked to participate
there will be strobe lights, loud noises, water, mist and fog

just be prepared for anything. it's worth it.

::new coat of paint::
"fishin' for a good time starts with throwin'in your line."
