life without music is a mistake

Been thinking about music a lot lately and how much it affects my soul. What would life be without music? I cannot imagine. Recently, I bought John Mayer’s new album, Battle Studies and Jack Johnson released a live album which is amazing – has some of my favorite songs of his on it plus a duet with Eddie Vedder – can’t beat that. Here’s one of my favorite songs from Mayer’s new album – enjoy!

Also I don’t think I am going to have time to blog until the New Year so I will be taking another short break. Taking a trip home to SC to spend time with the Fam and then driving out to Utah and then rushing back to NYC (banking on no flight/driving delays so I can make it in time for the celebration in the city!). Thank you for reading a little bit of me this year and I always love your comments. You all inspire me to keep putting my thoughts out there. Until then… I hope everyone has a wonderful Holiday season!! Can’t wait to catch up in 2010!

missing my monday nights...

Wow this winter season has been a busy blast of fun and I have almost completely come undone. I have just realized that I've been oh so neglectful of my blogging but I am tired. On this first day of winter I wish I could crawl on the couch and cozy up under my blankets with some hot tea or maybe even a little spiked hot coco and watch Gossip Girl. But since I really haven't even started my Christmas shopping - tonight I have to hit the stores with all the other last minute shoppers in the madness of looking for the perfect gift! Until the days of watching Gossip Girl return, here are a few favorite pics that were recently shot for Rolling Stone. Totally fun.

since I made it here ~ I can make it anywhere

Music of the week includes a highlight from last week… Miss Alicia Keys was playing a benefit concert at the Nokia Theater in Times Square last Tuesday and I got to go!! She was amazing. So soft spoken when she would speak into the mic yet so powerful when she would sing. Seeing her in concert should be on everyone's checklist. Then Jay-Z came out for the closing song and you could not even come close to imagining the energy felt in that room. It was simply wonderful. The perfect way to spend my last 20-something day, yes it was. Enjoy singing along! I know I do.

who needs sleep

I have had such a busy last 7 days that I am beyond crashing. I will fill you all in on the whirlwind details of a wonderful week/end after I get back to normal functioning mode. All I can think about is my bed right now. Photo taken and developed by me in 1997.

let us celebrate the occasion with wine and sweet words ~ plautus

I wish I had the time to post more often – I feel as though I have been neglecting you a little… This week I am celebrating the end of my 20’s and tomorrow I turn 30! I cannot believe it but I am so excited all the same. I quickly put some snapshots of me together from the last 2 years – completely random – just opened my picture files and selected the first three that grabbed my attention. Promise I’ll be back soon with all the glitter and glam of the week/end!
