Old School is Something New Again

I've been so obsessed with the creating of digital pages with images and words that my blog has been lacking a few words... Lately I've had the feeling of wanderlust and I never thought that would happen in NYC of all places. Anything you want to do, anytime you want to do it is here. But the thing I never really considered is that you have to be willing to do any of those things in the cold. It has just been too darn cold this year for too darn long and the motivation is lacking to discover new places. I haven't been going out or doing much of anything. I am so eagerly anticipating the sunny, long days and the sweltering heat on the city streets.
::sigh::
I think of the inspiring thoughts that warm weather brings - the walks through the park, days on the beach and discovering something new in the city everyday. I miss walking around new neighborhoods and people watching. I miss taking pictures and not only taking pictures with my digital camera but talking real, physical pictures that I can get developed on film and then actually hold them in my hand and flip through them. It always gives me so much more of an inspired feeling or emotion when looking at a picture in the moment and not just on a screen. How did some of these things get so lost in this digital world? I know art evolves and our lives change but some things should never be lost. I will start taking more photos with my Nikon and when I get them developed on that Kodak paper and get to flip through all the images in my hand I will try to post them here to share in hopes that the same reaction can be portrayed through a computer screen. Until then...

Hello Upper East Siders

Finally my Monday fix is back! I relished in the hour of guilty pleasures last night and felt so satisfied but wanting more. So happy the privileged few are back.

Green Overload

In the thoughts of today being St. Patrick's Day - I am ready for some whisky drinkin but first I thought I'd glam up the idea of wearing green this year - no more clover stickers on the face - no more green t'shirts - and no definitely no more green flip flops though there will be lots of green glitter! Last year the ridiculousness of St. Patricks Day in NYC turned me off the whole American marketing appeal of this fun and drunken-filled holiday. I love St. Patty's Day in SC, in GA and even in Miami but NYC is just down right chaos with a bunch o' amateur drinkers out and about. But this year with the inspiring thoughts of glaming up the greenest holiday of the year; maybe it will turn out to be alright and maybe just alittle bit o' fun.

My New Obsession

I have recently discovered Polyvore and it is my new favorite thing, as you can see I have posted numerous new thoughts and week to week I will continue with these made up pages of thoughts. I never realized there was a way to create these online but now I'm in love. Forever.

Spring is in Bloom

Well it's almost here at least... this past weekend gave me a small reminder that spring is around the corner. The warm weather thoughts always give me inspirations of redecorating and new ideas. My mood changes often but here are a few inspiring pics that I can't wait to blend into my own comfy vibe.

If I could attend a garden party and it were still a little chilly out - I would wear this velvet dress draped all over me.

Always trying to mix fashion and art in my life - it'd be a dream to have a closet like this. And the bold colors add to that 'have a happy day' mood.

Enough said just to see a sailboat chandelier. I want to live in this room.

I have a soft spot for the French feel of this room and I couldn't resist the powder blue all over.

The mix of navy and bright blue is enough to brighten anyone's day whether it is used in a bathroom or hallway; this color combo is great.

And until the warm weather is fully here to be outside everyday -I will dream of dining in a room like this until then.

DSquared in Milan

With Fashion Week in Milan coming to a closing I wanted to note my favorite look for the fall. The glam rocker look was all over the runways brought to us from the boys of DSquared. I think they will be my new fav to watch for. Check out FabSugar for more looks.

I haven't posted in awhile because I was away on my long weekend trip to warmer weather and even now all I can think is how much I just want to be back there. Everything moves on Island time and no one cares. I had to come back to the city a day after the worst storm of the season; words cannot describe the temperature shock that I felt in my soul. Here are a few of my warm weather inspired pics from the trip. Warm thoughts for the Day!
