If I had the option - I would arrive in the Islands with nothing but this dress and a bikini...

and I would sleep in a bed like this...

and for my nights out I would dress like this but I'd still probably be barefoot - all the same, I love this dress!

With this cold weather neverending and the summer seeming so far away a vacation has been planned... I leave on Thursday and I'm not back until Tuesday. My phone will be off and and I'll be in the sun until it sets doing more cartwheels in the sand.

When life is anything but nice all I want to do is remember the days when I could put on something sparkly and that simply made the world better. It doesn't seem much anymore that it helps really; however, to block the things that make life complicated, I do get inspired from one of my favorite designers. And this year he is back with his own fashion line debuting tonight at the Waldorf Astoria during NYC Fashion Week. He describes his solo line to Blackbook Mag as, "Marie Antoinette meets Marilyn Monroe - but modern." I couldn't think of anything more inspiring right now. One day I hope to experience one of these shows up close and in person but until then here are a few inspiring pics from the one and only Richie Rich.

Hors de Prix

This past weekend was nothing but movies and lounging around in my pajamas with friends. Sometimes we all need that. It was a simple, quiet weekend. One movie that stood out in particular was (English translation) Priceless starring Audrey Tautou. Some have coined her as the modern Audrey Hepburn and she does look classic, I’ll give her that. In this movie – she gives ‘Holly Golightly' a new approach; she may not be as naive but definitely eccentric and very socialite-esqe. Her character is a girl that goes to and from rich men thinking that money and pretty things is what will bring her happiness when really love is the only thing that can fulfill a person in the end. The fashion portrayed in the movie is just plain inspiring. Not to say that I would want her lifestyle; although shopping daily on someone else’s tab and drinking champagne in the afternoon really doesn’t sound that bad. I would love to take a cue from her fashion sense. European women seem to always have that extra something.

Never-ending Blue

Recently, something happened in my life that makes me bitter in wondering about the ways of the world. Does this feeling subside and how do I deal in the moments when I need inspiration and healing the most? As I look through images, I see the sorrow that can still be evoked even through glamour. When I feel sadness – I think nothing of glamour. However, here I have found a few favorite shots that remind me as dark as life gets – I should always keep the beauty and remember the sweet to come after the harshness of life fades.
